Summary:
Used a light weight Poulon for 15+ years. I am sure glad I got this Stihl.

Strengths:
Decent power, good balance, low vibration, easy starting, tooless tensioning (available), chain heavier (.063) than competition in homeowner class. Full chisel chain available (in 2 flavors) if you are into that. Better overall quality. Stihl dealers.

Weaknesses:
Pricey but you get what you pay for. $10 air filters

Summary:
excellent saw has more than enough power to cut oak pushing an 18" chain

Strengths:
Light weight saw with low vibration installed 18" bar from a farm boss (not recommended by stihl) but it fits fine and cuts fine great set up very light

Weaknesses:

Summary:
Overall better performance than my Poulan Pro PP4620 especially regarding the bar and chain oiler, but the old Poulan starts every time and it has never ever flooded.

Strengths:
Lightweight, well balanced, and cuts well once you get it started. chain oiler works well consistently.

Weaknesses:
Saw less than 1 month old: Very easy to flood. Took it back to dealer 1 hour after getting the saw and technician had to remove plug and dry it. It would not fire no matter what. When cold, if you set full choke and do not unchoke after the very first sound of firing, it will flood and no matter what you do [unless you remove and dry the spark plug or let it sit overnight], it will not start. Restarts well [1 pull] after warmed up - but don't even think about choking it unless it has sat overnight and it is completely cold. Often acts as if it is going to stall after a cut, have to gun it briefly.

Summary:
good saw for firewood and chores around the property. this is what the saw is designed for.

Strengths:
very lightweight and well balanced. enough power to get the job done on 16-20 inch birch.

Weaknesses:
standard bar a bit too small, may have to upgrade

exelent saw true stihl quality....... stihl is stihl....germans know how to build this things

Very powerful saw for its weight... I have it for 5 years now and it has never let me down

air filter could be better i must clean it weekly and i miss decompresion valve

Summary:
Easy starting if you follow directions. No vibration like my Mc C. No chain fall off like my Craftsman.

Strengths:
This is a great saw for the money. Has plenty of power to cut through 24" trees and still light enough for limbing. This is my 4th saw in the last 30 years. I have had David Bradley, Mc Cullough, Craftsman and now the Sthil. This one is by far the best. I like that it has a .325 chain.

Weaknesses:
None.

great saw for home use,of course its pricey but it is quality,this is not a made in china saw it is a proffesional saw for home

best saw for the money,i got it in special 329 in canada,starts fast if you follow instructions,light for long uses,fast to refill gaz and oil,easy to adjust chain or to replace it,cuts fast for a 40cc chain ,very powerfull for a home saw,can be use for eavy duty work and will not let you down
