Summary:
Use for planting pine and fir trees. In clean ground, it cuts my planting time in half compared to digging with a shovel.
Strengths:
Light weight. Easy to control. Drills a 5" hole 24" deep very quickly in clean, soft to medium sod.
Weaknesses:
Lacks power. Even small roots and small (1") rocks really slow the digging process. Replaceable digging point is not hardened and dulls very quickly. Can dig about 100 holes and must sharpen of replace. And the things cost over $24!
