Summary:
I have been through two gear boxes. It worked great for 3 years. Used it to plow out a 400 foot driveway in the Colorado mountains for 3 years. Then it blew the worm gear in the auger gear box. Replaced it and all other parts in the gear box. Worked good for an unusually mild winter last year. Fired it up in the fall, all was good. Got our first 14" snow this year, and the auger quit turning after one pass. Had to shovel by hand (again). Worm gear that had about 3 uses on it, is stripped out again. I don't know how to rate it, since it worked good for 3 years with lots of use. Seems like something that costs this much, should last more than 3 years though.
Strengths:
Really eats through snow (when it works). Starts every time. Engine is strong and reliable.
Weaknesses:
strips out worm gears.
